Born into a family full of musicians and after learning several instruments in his childhood, Vincent started playing the guitar at the age of 11.
His musical career began in South Africa as he worked as a sideman of a well known and award winning singer Swazi Dlamini. The country South Africa and its people
has been one of the most important experiences for him, musically and culturally. The name Themba relates to his integration in one of South Africa's townships in a Zulu community. After several
years living and working in South Africa, Vincent now lives in Cologne, Germany.
Besides studying jazz guitar with Philipp van Endert at Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Duesseldorf, Vincent took lessons from guitarists like Dean Brown, Geoff Goodman,
Bret Willmott and Heiner Rennebaum.
His musical influences represent a broad repertoire from jazz and world music to pop, hip-hop and many more.
As a guitarist he has played and worked together with Tim Heintz (MD Chaka Khan), Daniel Schnyder (NY), Ernie Smith (SA), Swazi Dlamini (SA), Miroca Paris (Cabo Verde), Mimi Ntenjwa (SA), Awa Ly (FR), Dave Davis, Noëmi Waysfeld (FR), Lucia de Carvalho (Angola/FR), Kadé Kanté, Pape Seck, Joyce Cândido (Brazil), Carmen Souza, Chupacabras, HopStop Banda, Diamondog (Angola/Berlin), Abiodun (Nigeria/Ger), Soleil Niklasson (USA), Carmen Brown and is a member (as a guitarist/bassist and partly as a composer) of musical formations like 'The Local Ambassardors', his trio 'Trilab', 'Red Dog' and 'git.init', just to name a few.
Besides working as a guitarist, Vincent plays Electric and Double Bass since many years,
which always had been a passion to him. Besides several engagements as a frequently booked bassist, to be pointed out is a cologne-based band Kempes Feinest which plays original music in colognes local dialect.
Besides his work as an instrumentalist, Vincent has been the main recording engineer and post-production lead guitarist of the award winning gospel album 'Chapter 3'
by 'Andile Majola', released in 2009 (South Africa) and recording and mixing engineer of Red Dog's debut album.
